Arrange transport of goods to and from Poland

Main Useful Means of Transport
According to Eurostat, freight goods by road represent 315 874 million tonne-kilometres in 2018. Considering the evolution of international transport for the EU total, in 2018, Poland continued to have the highest share in EU international transport (29.5 %). When looking at the repartition of cross-trade between the different Member States in 2018, Poland continued to be the top cross-trade transporter in 2018, with a share of 32.9 % of total EU cross-trade transport

According to Eurostat, freight goods by rail represent 13 665 million tonne-kilometres in 2019, an abruptly decrease from 58 011 million tonne-kilometres reported in 2018. A decrease in transport performance between 2018 and 2019 was registered for Poland (-4.2 billion tonne-kilometres). International lines (Intercity) give excellent service but the regional lines remain poor. Modernization is essential with regards to signals and rolling stock, for about 40% of goods traffic is carried out by rail.

Gross weight of seaborne cargo handled in all ports of Poland in 2018 is 2.4 in tons per inhabitant (latest data from Eurostat). Compared with 2017, Poland recorded the largest relative increases in port freight activity among the EU Member States (+17.6 %). Poland's main ports are Gdansk and Szeczin-Swinoujscie. They have been considerably improved over the last few years with a view to European integration. Cargo in Polish seaports in 2019 amounted to nearly 94 million metric tons (an increase of 2.3 percent YoY). The port of Gdansk registered a freight turnover of 45.5 million metric tons.
